Jingling Bells

This morning I sacrificed my sleep and ventured out into the post snow Seattle to take part in the 24th Annual Jingle Bell Run. It started/finished on 5th Avenue which is in the heart of downtown. It benefited the Arthritis Foundation and this year's honoree was a cute little 3 year old guy named Benjamin who was born with a congenital form of arthritis. It was lots of fun, and it ended up being a really sunny morning after our first snow last night. People got all kinds of dressed up - there were presents, elves, snowmen, santas, santa's helpers, lots of people in Christmas boxer shorts and all forms of santa hats, people in pajamas - some people went all out. And the most fun thing....everyone wore Jingle Bells of course!! Nothing like thousands of people running down a street wearing bells! It was cold, but I enjoyed the morning sun and it was great to be around thousands of people all happy to be up early in the morning to do something fun!
