Too Cute Not to Share

Bindy and her "Boyfriend" Elmo. He is my brother's cat (aka Horse) and they like to romp around together. Aren't they the cutest?!! They are gonna miss each other when we move out....we might have to have play dates!

Milestones and Battle Scars

So, here are a few little things that have been going on in my life....

1. I worked my first official day in the NICU. Not as a nurse, but as a secretary. In January, I should start as a Nurse Tech, which will lead me straight on into nurse in August. I love it love it love it there!!!! I am working there a lot over my break too!

2. I am moving out of my house! Yay!! I don't know how many people know that I have been living at home since my return to country. i8888888888888888888mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm(that was Bindy's contribution to my entry) :) It was not my first choice but it was necessary while I was in school. And while I'll still be in school until August, I think I can make it work. Jamie and I will be roomies and we are both excited about having a house! I am sure one of us will post pictures eventually!

3. I started my 1st IV today!! YAY!! It has been the thing I was most nervous about b/c I know it can be really painful and I don't want to hurt anyone of course. I am not an expert or anything by any means, but it was really cool to do it. My hands are "holey" now from people practicing too. But I would feel jipped if I didn't have the day of IV starting to talk about. It's a staple of nursing school. And I am also glad that we can start practicing in clinicals now.

4. My semester will be over on Thursday. I have 2 biggo tests on that day back to back and then I can breathe. It will be nice to have reached the official 1/3 point. I will be babysitting and working and moving over the break so I won't be bored but I am very much ready for a school break.

5. I finished my 1st rag rug. It is pretty cool if I say so myself. I would post a picture but I am not sure that it would really translate. But Bindy approves I guess b/c she lays on it all the time. And speaking of my lovely little one, she is great! I love her tons! I am going to drive to the metroplex after Christmas and I am planning on taking her, so hopefully she will do good on her first road trip!

Well, I guess that's about it. The days are flying by and I am trying so desperately to stay on top of life and be able to enjoy my favorite time of year. I am anxious for the new year b/c that means I will be in the year that I graduate from Nursing school!! It won't be "next year" anymore. But I also don't want it to get here too quickly either. I hate getting older!!!!!! My mom likes to remind me that I am "pushing 30." Yikes!! 2 weeks until Christmas!! Hope everyone is enjoying the season!!

The Season

Well, I see that quite a lot of people are behind on blogging. I guess everyone is getting wrapped up in the season. Travelling, working, wrapping up the semester, shopping, whatever it is we are doing we all seem to be doing a lot of it. I hope that everyone has safe journeys, a joyous break from work/school, time with family, lots of love, really good turkey, and whatever they want from Santa under their tree. I love the holiday season and I can't wait to enjoy what I can when my semester finishes in a few weeks! Love to all!

Long Lost Blogger Girl

Yep, that's me. I can't believe I have been out of the loop for so long. School has just been crazy for me. And when I haven't been doing that I have been trying to squeeze in the hours at work....I mean, I don't work. What am I saying (we are contractually obligated not to work during the program, but unfortunately Tech has not offered to pay my bills....)? I have 2 more weeks with 4 more tests and a practicum. Some days in Labor and Delivery (I cannot wait!!!!!) and then some skills days....blah blah blah. As of December 14th, I will be 1/3 finished, assuming I survive! It is so unreal! I feel like I just started last week. But I must say it has been a looooong semester. I really wish I had more interesting info seeing as how I have been "lost" for so long. But absolutely nothing has happened. Bindy is great - she has grown and she entertains herself with any piece of string she can find. Today I was crocheting a rag rug that I have been working one for a decade (not really but it feels like it) and she entertained herself and me with her acrobatics. Rag rugs have been in my family forever and I just love them and I am excited to be so close to finishing my first effort. I can't believe it is already the holiday season! I so love the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving I started playing all my holiday music! I just love it! And last night it snowed!! And it actually stuck all day! Last year we got zero and I was so disappointed. I am a fall/winter lover and I just love it! I love the lights and the music and the smells of the season! And the good movies are starting to come out. I hope I can find time to see a few. I hope everyone had a good turkey day! I have missed an anniversary, a momentous "home"-coming...it's amazing how out of touch you can feel by just falling behind on blogging. I am glad to see everyone still around! Well, it's late and I have a test tomorrow...safe travels to all, and I hope everyone stops to smell the season!! I'll try not to be gone so long next time!
